Sales Professionals - US

Reporting to the Vice President of Sales and based in the West Coast, Northeast and Midwest, this individual will be responsible for new account sales to the Global R&D 1400 accounts in the assigned territory. This role is critical in helping us grow our new account base, you will be supported by our world-class Client Services organization to deliver support and training to your new clients.  The selected candidate must be comfortable interacting with senior management and their respective scientific and technical staff across different functions as well as Marketing and Product Development leaders. An entrepreneurial nature, as well as experience in needs-based consultative selling is requirements along with your last 3 years of sales history against quotas established in your existing territory.

Specific responsibilities will include:

  • Contacting targeted companies, introducing the InnoCentive business model giving presentations to large senior level groups and establishing sales process through successful close
  • Providing input on overall sales strategy to include presentations, sales materials, value proposition, key messages, etc.
  • Developing a contact list, within targeted segments and maintaining a pipeline of potential client opportunities
  • Developing an account strategy for each key account with focus on building relationships with key users of the InnoCentive model to ensure maximum utilization and account penetration
  • Being accountable for revenue and performance consistent with the Sales Forecast and InnoCentive Company Objectives
  • Working closely with other functions in the Company (Client Services, Consulting, Training, Operations and Marketing) to achieve goals
  • Minimum travel required is 50%.  Midwest based and working from a home office.

The successful candidate must possess:

  • Proven experience in selling and closing new business opportunities, and maintaining accounts with large, multinational organizations
  • Minimum 5 years’ experience selling information or consultative services into the pharmaceutical, biotech, chemicals, foods or consumer products industries
  • Strong presentation skills at the C-level
  • Excellent communications, relationship-building and organizational skills

Lead Software Engineer

InnoCentive, Inc. is seeking a Lead Software Engineer to help us advance our new web applications and SaaS software application, built on the Groovy/Grails platform.

Specifically, we require an individual who has experience developing software architecture from the ground up, including developing web-based applications, service-stacks and web services. The successful candidate will be able to independently synthesize software requirements from user stories and use cases. This individual will have extensive and recent hands-on development experience with Java/J2EE and employ proven software development methodologies to work closely with other developers, product managers, QA, and clients.

Responsibilities:

The Lead Engineer will be reponsible for architecture, software design, and implementation of major portions of our web site and Saas software application.

  • Collaboration with product management on requirements, use case development, and user interface design
  • Architecture, design and coding of server-side logic in Groovy and/or Java, using the Grails/Groovy/Spring/Hibernate frameworks
  • Development and execution of unit and system test, and collaboration with QA to ensure high quality of delivered code
  • Work with operations on deployment of new release and packaging of production applications
  • Mentor junior members of the team
  • Provide work estimates and report progress to management

Requirements:

  • 10 years total software development and integration experience, with at least 5 years of them recently with Java
  • A strong knowledge of Java is a must-have. Knowledge of J2EE, Spring, Hibernate are desired
  • Strong software architecture and design sensibility with emphasis on clarity and usability with rapid prototyping and iteration
  • Object-oriented software engineering experience; strong knowledge of design patterns and MVC
  • Demonstrated knowledge of RDBMS and MySql
  • Experience with agile development methodologies such as Scrum strongly preferred
  • Experience delivering public-facing, scalable web applications built on open source technologies
  • Required skills: Java, HTML, XML, Linux, SQL/databases, unit/regression testing
  • Strongly desired skills: Groovy, Grails, Spring, Hibernate, familiarty with Agile/Scrum project practices

Innovation Program Manager

The Innovation Program Manager is responsible for driving challenge posting volumes and maintaining high levels of client satisfaction through providing pre-sales and post sales Challenge consultation and management to current and prospective InnoCentive clients.

Responsibilities:

  • Actively provide project management for a Challenge from idea to final close which may include:
    • Pre-screening and prioritization recommendations of Challenge ideas
    • Provide guidance and consultation to the Challenge Owner regarding Challenge Type, award level and design to provide the highest probability of success
    • Development of a template to the final Challenge Statement
    • Facilitation of Solver questions to drive quality Solver Submissions
    • Review, filtering and packaging of Challenge Submission for the Client’s evaluation
    • Provide guidance and consultation to the Challenge Owner during the evaluation period
    • Communicate Challenge results to all interested parties
  • Deliver training and best practices sessions for InnoCentive@work & InnoCentive.com clients and prospects
  • Present the business case surrounded by merits of InnoCentive’s open innovation solution to business managers, scientists, innovation champions, and any other prospective challenge sponsor.
  • Keep abreast of industry trends, best practices, and competing/complimentary products. Leverage the knowledge obtained in sales cycles.
  • Develop strong client relationships
  • Conduct, manage, and lead client pilots or “proof-of-concepts”.
  • Work with internal departments (sales, support, marketing, development), as appropriate, to ensure success during sales campaigns and/or to ensure the client experience is extremely positive.
  • Travel up to 20% of the time

Requirements:

  • Minimum MS in Organic Chemistry and MBA a plus
  • Fluency (written and verbal) in English and at least one other language
  • 5+ years experience serving in a customer-facing role
  • Prior experience running a large scale project within a Fortune 500-1000 company

Associate Innovation Program Manager

We are currently seeking an associate-level employee to support to the Client Services Team of PhD-trained scientist and engineers who facilitate the process of executing Challenges with InnoCentive’s global community. The ideal candidate will have excellent administrative skills and a strong technical background. An undergraduate degree or masters degree in one of these areas (computational sciences, physical sciences, chemical engineering) with a strong background in computational sciences. Experience in more than one of these areas is a plus.

The position is a full time position and is based in our Waltham, MA, office.  You should have very strong communications skills, both oral and written, along with the ability to work independently and as a team player. Most importantly however, successful candidates will be enthusiastic about expanding their knowledge of science and engineering and not be afraid of dive into completely new technical domains. Since this position involves administrative work, strong computer skills and experience with Microsoft Office is essential.

Seeker Program Manager

The Seeker Program Manager is responsible for managing the onboarding of new InnoCentive clients,  facilitating the assignment of resources for client projects, and maintaining high levels of client satisfaction through providing pre-sales and post sales consultation and management to assigned InnoCentive clients.
