Innovation Sales Managers - Locations: Major Business Centers across the US

About the Position(s):
Reporting to an Area Sales Director, you will be responsible for managing and growing established relationships with InnoCentive’s existing Global 1000 Clients. This includes expanding existing relationships, seeking out and extracting ideas for Challenges and driving revenue to accomplish targeted financial objectives. You must be comfortable interacting with Senior Management including CSO, EVP R&D, CEO, etc. and their respective scientific and technical staff across different business functions, providing a high level of client service.
You will need to demonstrate an aptitude for accelerating the sales cycle from initial contact through to successful close, financial modeling of activities, and working closely with Client Services to ensure overall client satisfaction and business growth. An entrepreneurial nature, as well as experience in needs-based consultative selling, are requirements.
Specific responsibilities will include:
- Owning assigned sales territory including quarterly sales quota achievement;
- Working with Area Sales Director to develop, manage and be 100% responsible for the assigned territory plan and related performance objectives;
- Working as part of a highly collaborative and supportive National sales team and work to support the company’s overall objectives;
- Developing and presenting financial models to support client business plans;
- Developing and managing all aspects of client relationship management and business growth;
- Networking throughout existing client organizations, communicating the InnoCentive business model, giving presentations to technical and scientific groups and managing the sales process through successful close;
- Developing and managing overall sales strategy to include presentations, sales materials, value proposition, key messages, contracting etc.;
- Developing and maintaining a database of client contacts and referrals;
- Developing a client strategy for each key client with focus on building relationships with key users of the InnoCentive model to ensure maximum utilization and continued business growth;
- Working closely with other functions in the Company (Client Services, Scientific Operations, Marketing) to achieve individual and company goals;
- Locations: Major Business Centers across the US
To be considered for this position, you must possess:
- Proven experience in defining, developing and closing business opportunities, and maintaining client satisfaction;
- A drive to win and compete, with exceptional business agility to adapt quickly as the Clients’ businesses continue to evolve with increased velocity;
- Minimum 4 years’ sales experience working with mid level executives, scientific or technical staff, utilizing established consultative or strategic selling methodologies;
- A self-starter mentality that can work independently;
- Excellent communications, relationship-building and organizational skills;
- Undergraduate degree or equivalent required;

Community Ambassador
The Community Ambassador will be responsible for community content and interactions via InnoCentive’s web site (company to users, users to users, users to company), including:
- Collaborating with Product Management to define and develop the appropriate community model and “rules of engagement” for the online InnoCentive community
- Providing an InnoCentive “voice in the community” through proactive publishing, editing, and engagement
sourcing and/or developing content of interests to seekers and solvers - Promoting positive interactions through mechanisms such as blogs and forums
- Recruiting seekers and solvers to contribute content to the site
- Developing and enforcing appropriate editorial policies for user-generated content
- Generating and managing the product of regular newsletters and other community communication
- Actively monitor what the customer is saying in both InnoCentive and external communities, and respond where appropriate
- Gather community input for future products and services to help shape the offerings to the community
Skills or experience:
- Some experience in research, science, problem solving, and/or product development
- Crisp, lucid, modern written communication style
- Experience in editing and publishing in the web context
- Strong listening skills; responsive and personable
- Ideally, some experience with market or exchange-based business models
- Some knowledge of chemistry and/or life sciences valuable but not essential

Lead Java Web Developer
The Lead Java Web Developer will be responsible for architecture, software design, and implementation of major portions of our web site, including:
- collaboration with product management on requirements, use case development, and user interface design
- design and coding of RIA capabilities, including javascript, AJAX and FLEX
- architecture, design and coding of server-side logic in Java and Groovy, using the Grails/Spring/Hibernate frameworks
- development and execution of unit and system test, and collaboration with QA to ensure high quality of delivered code
Skills required:
- strong software architecture and design sensibility with emphasis on clarity and usability
- rapid prototyping and iteration
- strong customer focus
- some experience with agile development methodologies such as Scrum strongly preferred
- experience delivering public-facing, scalable web applications built on open source technologies
- comfortable working in a fast-paced, dynamic startup environment
- required skills: Java, HTML, XML, Linux, SQL/databases, unit/regression testing
- desired skills: Spring, Hibernate, Groovy/Grails, familiarity with Agile/Scrum project practices
- experience with these products helpful: MySQL database, IntelliJ, Subversion source control, Ant, Apache, Tomcat
