There are more than half a billion people taking care of someone elderly at home worldwide (44.4 million in the US) and the number is growing. Most of these dedicated “at-home” caregivers are not professionally trained to deal with such things as dementia, personal hygiene, medical conditions and complications. Caregivers don’t always ask for help and advice when they need it most. This is often because of the intimate and personal nature of the issues involved. They also have very little time to search out answers.
Our investigations lead us to believe that this “Hidden Community” would benefit greatly from educational materials, product information /recommendations and established healthcare techniques. We are looking for a “communication platform” to reach out to these individuals to provide educational information and respond to feedback to meet their needs. This platform needs to go beyond traditional websites and established social networks as a solution.

What is an InnoCentive Ideation™ Challenge?
An InnoCentive Ideation™ Challenge is a broad question formulated to obtain access to new ideas, similar to a global brainstorm for producing a breakthrough idea or market survey which may include ideas for a new product line, a new commercial application for a current product, or even a viral marketing idea to recruit new customers. Ideation™ Challenge submissions are typically about two written pages, and Seekers receive a non-exclusive, perpetual license to use all submissions.

Solvers should not reveal any confidential information in their submissions. Often the Ideation™ Challenge will be followed by one or more of the other three Challenge types to further develop the ideas and gain Intellectual Property protection when the concept has been well-defined.
