The Seeker wishes to identify technologists who can apply their skills and experience to one or more of the following key elements of a problem: 1. Filling Technologies for non-Newtonian matrices; 2. Formulating or structuring filling materials to meet demanding mechanical specifications; 3. Monitoring fillings/structures using non-destructive assay technologies. Selected Solvers will be invited to attend an expert problem-solving workshop in the southern United States – travel & accommodation expenses will be covered.
Problem: How might a complex geometry be reproducibly filled with a non-Newtonian matrix that will withstand demanding physio-chemical environments over many years? In addition how might the integrity of this filling be monitored over time?
You don’t need to present complete solutions, but you do need to submit detailed ideas to convince the Seeker that you can conceptually apply your expertise to one or more of the above elements!
This is an Ideation Challenge with a guaranteed award for at least one submitted solution.
The Seeker wishes to identify technologists who can apply their skills and experience to one or more key elements of an industry-wide problem described in the detailed Challenge description. The Seeker is specifically looking to harness the creative insights of experts outside of disciplines normally engaged in his field - these experts must be able to apply their skills and experiences to conceptually address one or more of the following problem elements:
This problem is large and the scope of possible solutions and expertise that can be applied is huge. You don’t need to provide a solution, but you do need to demonstrate to the Seeker your expertise & how you could apply it to one or more of the problem elements. Diversity of approaches is key to the success of this initiative & the Seeker wishes to identify expertise and technologies that may translate from neighboring, or completely different industries.
The Seeker is looking for innovative ideas on these problems, and will invite select Solvers to a focused workshop where ideas will contribute to a complete solution.
Formulation experts, polymer chemists, medical imaging experts, food technologists, mathematical modelers, rheologists, inorganic chemists, surface scientists and Solvers representing many more innovative skill sets are encouraged to submit a proposal!
This is an Ideation Challenge, which has the following unique features:
After the Challenge deadline, the Seeker will complete the review process and make a decision with regards to the Winning Solution(s).All Solvers that submitted a proposal will be notified on the status of their submissions; however, no detailed evaluation of individual submissions will be provided.
What is an InnoCentive Ideation™ Challenge?
An InnoCentive Ideation™ Challenge is a broad question formulated to obtain access to new ideas, similar to a global brainstorm for producing a breakthrough idea or market survey which may include ideas for a new product line, a new commercial application for a current product, or even a viral marketing idea to recruit new customers. Ideation™ Challenge submissions are typically about two written pages, and Seekers receive a non-exclusive, perpetual license to use all submissions.
In an Ideation™ Challenge, Solvers may:
Solvers should not reveal any confidential information in their submissions. Often the Ideation™ Challenge will be followed by one or more of the other three Challenge types to further develop the ideas and gain Intellectual Property protection when the concept has been well-defined.
