Fun, creative and simple campaigns are extremely effective in catching people’s attention and raising awareness to health conditions. From patients to healthcare professionals, the whole population can gather around a cause and engage with the movement, creating a global viral effect that builds awareness, educates and informs people towards improved health – for example, who is not aware of what a moustache in November means?
The Seeker to this Challenge is asking you to create an inspirational, fun, and engaging global movement to help improving skin health, a global concern that affects the lives of millions of people. Can you come up with the next global health movement?
This is an Ideation Challenge with a guaranteed award for at least one submitted solution.
Each year there are more new cases of skin cancer than the combined incidence of breast, prostate, lung and colon cancer. One in five Americans will develop skin cancer in the course of a lifetime and one person dies of melanoma every 57 minutes. Other skin conditions such as psoriasis, eczema or skin infections negatively affect the health and lives of millions of people around the world. Despite the advances in science and treatments there is still a lot of ground to cover, especially in raising awareness to the need for early action, screening and preventive measures that help staying healthy.
Being inspired by the success of other global campaigns such as the ‘Movember Movement’, the Seeker is looking for novel and creative ideas to develop a viral campaign to boost global awareness and support its mission of improving people’s skin health.
This is a special Ideation Challenge with a guaranteed award for at least one submitted solution. There are several unique features:

What is an InnoCentive Ideation™ Challenge?
An InnoCentive Ideation™ Challenge is a broad question formulated to obtain access to new ideas, similar to a global brainstorm for producing a breakthrough idea or market survey which may include ideas for a new product line, a new commercial application for a current product, or even a viral marketing idea to recruit new customers. Ideation™ Challenge submissions are typically about two written pages, and Seekers receive a non-exclusive, perpetual license to use all submissions.
In an Ideation™ Challenge, Solvers may:
Solvers should not reveal any confidential information in their submissions. Often the Ideation™ Challenge will be followed by one or more of the other three Challenge types to further develop the ideas and gain Intellectual Property protection when the concept has been well-defined.
