The next generation of mobile data connectivity is just around the corner with 5G technology expected to be in use by 2020. 5G connectivity is expected to greatly enhance performance compared to existing 4G systems with improvements of at least a factor of 10 for data rates, latency, and number of simultaneous connections as well enhanced mobility. The Seeker is looking for new ideas for features, products, and services enabled by the availability of this disruptive 5G technology.
This is an Ideation Challenge with a guaranteed award for at least one submitted solution.
Increasing the performance of mobile connectivity brings forth new features/devices/services that were not feasible for previous generations of mobile technology. 5G connectivity is just around the corner and promises to greatly improve upon the capabilities of current mobile data links. Better data rates, lower latency, higher device connection capacity, and greater mobility are improvements expected compared to 4G connectivity. The Seeker is looking for new ideas for features, products, and/or services that can be commercialized by early 2020 based on the disruptions brought about by the introduction of 5G connectivity. Ideas may span the range from new features of existing devices such as smartphones, tablets, wearables, etc. to entirely new devices to new services enabled by novel software or hardware features or devices.

What is an InnoCentive Ideation™ Challenge?
An InnoCentive Ideation™ Challenge is a broad question formulated to obtain access to new ideas, similar to a global brainstorm for producing a breakthrough idea or market survey which may include ideas for a new product line, a new commercial application for a current product, or even a viral marketing idea to recruit new customers. Ideation™ Challenge submissions are typically about two written pages, and Seekers receive a non-exclusive, perpetual license to use all submissions.
