The goal of this Life Grand Challenge, sponsored by Life Technologies, is to improve the accuracy of the Ion Torrent Personal Genome MachineTM DNA sequencing technology. More specifically, the goal is to find a way to double the accuracy of data generated by the Ion chips. The winner of the Accuracy Grand Challenge will have to provide a two-fold improvement, relative to the best Life Technologies performance, in the accuracy (half of the error rate) across Ion Torrent’s available chips.
