OVERVIEW

Wazoku is seeking applications from qualified and interested experts in computational chemistry with considerable and demonstrated expertise in this field.

A Wazoku client has a Prize Challenge assignment which will be posted to specifically invited candidates in April, 2025 – this call is to identify and engage experts, the best candidates will be invited to this Prize assignment with an award of $15,000 to the winner.

We invite candidates with relevant and detailed descriptions of their expertise in computational chemistry, from across academia, research, industry or commercial experience.

Interested Solvers should apply with a Collaboration Proposal (detailing key expertise, relevance, and interest), General Information about the applicant (contact information, organization/academic affiliation if applicable), and a required CV/resume. Please submit as guided below, with a view to potential invitation to the Prize assignment.

THE CHALLENGE

Wazoku is looking to the Wazoku Crowd for individuals with deep expertise in computational chemistry with the interest to offer their technical know-how and a proposed solution to an upcoming Prize assignment opportunity that will be posted very soon, in April 2025 with an award of $15,000 to the winner.

Our interest in computational chemistry experts is sourced from a specific requirement from a Wazoku client, to use a consensus structure or model that will be provided, to identify a family of possible experimental assays for compounds meeting discrete criteria.

 

APPLICANT REQUIREMENTS

The ideal applicant would be:

  1. Qualified – with expertise displayed through detailed descriptions of your previous and recent application of these skills in academic, industrial, or commercial settings.
  2. Interested – confirming your desire to work with a Wazoku client for this upcoming April assignment.

It is required that the ideal applicants have in-depth skills as a computational chemistry expert, in relation to:

  • Database proficiency: to effectively use the different databases, including advanced search techniques
  • Chemical intuition: to quickly assess the relevance of different compound variants and prioritize the most promising candidates
  • Knowledge in ligand-targeted drugs or ligand-ligand interaction
  • Safety knowledge: substances classified as carcinogenic, mutagenic or toxic for reproduction (CMR) in relation to cosmetic, chemical, food, medicinal products are prohibited as solutions for the coming assignment

PARTICIPATION GUIDANCE

  1. Submission Close Date: Applications to the Challenge must be received by 11:59 PM (US Eastern Time),  24th March, 2025.
  2. Late submissions: Late submissions will not be considered.
  3. Submission form and attachments: Your submission will be evaluated with a review of your information in the submission form and attachments of CV/resume (required) and/or cover letter (optional).
  4. Evaluation notification steps: After the Challenge submission close date, Wazoku and our client will complete the review process and inform all participants about the intention or otherwise to invite them to the upcoming Prize assignment, according to the timeline in the Challenge header.
  5. Use of AI: While Wazoku encourages the use by Solvers of AI approaches to help develop their submissions to Challenges, this specific opportunity is about you, your skills, and your experience. Any submissions to this Challenge produced with generative AI are not of interest.
