Marketplace · For Enterprise

Accelerate discovery with the world's leading science, technology and innovation Marketplace

A curated, independently assessed network of start-ups, scale-ups and research spin-outs, classified by what they can actually solve. Search it through Wazoku Scout and get a short list you can act on, not ten thousand results you have to filter.

Engineers assessing a technology capability

The problem with start-up data

Most start-up databases were built to track money, not capability

Ask a conventional database who's raised a Series B in industrial biotech and it will tell you. Ask it which companies could solve a specific process problem in your plant - including companies that have never considered your sector - and it can't help, because it doesn't hold that kind of information. It knows funding rounds, headcounts and sector labels. It doesn't know what anyone can do.

That gap is where scouting time goes. Long lists get built, screened by hand, and mostly discarded. The interesting company is often the one that never appeared in the search, because it sits in an adjacent market and describes itself in a different vocabulary.

Curation (the differentiator)

Every company in the Marketplace asked to be there. And was assessed before it got in.

The Marketplace isn't scraped together, and the companies in it don't self-certify. They request a place, and we assess them independently against their segment. Places in each segment, in each country, are deliberately limited.

That has three consequences that matter to a scouting team:

Short lists, not long ones.

A search returns a handful of assessed companies per segment and geography, not an unranked dump you have to triage.

The information has been checked.

Classification is ours, not the company's marketing department's.

They want to hear from you.

Every listed company opted in specifically to be found by enterprise buyers. Approach rates and response rates look nothing like cold outreach from a scraped list.

What sits underneath it

A capability network, built on twenty years of Problem:Solution data

The Innocentive Marketplace combines over twenty years of proprietary innovation data, third-party sources, global start-ups and scale-ups, university spin-outs, and the expertise of the Innocentive Crowd. It is the dataset behind Wazoku Scout.

What makes it different is the data it was built from. Two decades of running Challenges for the world's largest organisations has produced a detailed record of which solutions actually resolved which problems. Our conversational AI, Jen, is trained on that record, which is why it can reason about adjacency - surfacing a technology developed for one industry that solves a problem in yours.

  • Companies classified across a detailed technology taxonomy of several hundred segments

  • Global coverage, not just the usual innovation hubs

  • Underpinned by a Crowd of more than one million solvers, experts, academics and start-ups

What enterprises use it for

What our customers use the Marketplace for

Technology scouting.

Find credible providers against a defined problem statement, including in adjacent sectors you weren't searching.

Accelerator and incubator cohorts.

Build a qualified pipeline for a programme intake, filtered by segment, maturity and geography.

Corporate venturing.

Identify investable companies in strategically relevant segments before they appear on generalist deal platforms.

Partnering and supply chain.

Find in-market partners in specific countries, rather than defaulting to whoever is nearest to head office.

Academic and research partnerships.

Search university research specialisms and spin-out IP to identify the institutions best placed to work with you.

When the answer isn't in the data

And if nobody in the world has solved it yet, you can ask

This is the part no database can offer. If a search returns nothing that fits, the same platform lets you put the problem to the Innocentive Crowd as a Challenge - more than a million solvers, subject matter experts, academics and start-ups, with an award attached to the answer.

Search first. Ask second. Most organisations need both, and very few have access to both in one place.

Researchers working on an unsolved problem

How it stays current

Kept current by people and machines

The Marketplace grows continuously. WIN scouts add companies and intelligence from their own markets, new Challenge outcomes feed fresh Problem:Solution data back into Wazoku.ai's agentic AI, Jen training, and companies request places every week. Relationships you start here can be managed through the Wazoku.ai Ecosystem Management Capability ).

Bring us a problem

The fastest way to understand the Marketplace is to watch it run against something you're actually working on. Bring a live scouting brief to a discovery session and we'll show you what comes back.
