The Seeker, a leading global research & development company, is seeking a partner to engage in a close partnership aimed at developing a battery of several possibly successive non-animal based assays. The goal is to accelerate the establishment of a developmental toxicity screening cascade for candidate chemicals while maintaining acceptable reliability and good predictability compared to results obtained in rodent and non-rodent models.

This is an electronic Request-for-Partners (eRFP) Challenge; the Solver will only need to submit a written proposal to be evaluated by the Seeker with the goal of establishing a collaborative partnership.

The objective of this Challenge is to identify partners with novel solutions/expertise to help develop alternative, efficacious, non-animal (preferably in vitro or in silico based) assay(s) to more efficiently evaluate the developmental toxicity potential of candidate chemicals (molecular weight 300-800 g/Mol). Each assay would ideally be easy to implement, faster and cheaper than the traditional assays already available, while improving or at least maintaining acceptable predictability as compared to already available assays. The overall solution is considered likely to be a combination of several assays that are complementary (in parallel or successive) to each other. Individual assays can be specific to one mode of action known to associate with developmental toxicity in mammals.

This is an electronic Request-for-Partners (eRFP) Challenge. The Solver will write a preliminary proposal (about 2-4 pages, including supporting non-confidential information and contact details) to be evaluated by the Seeker with a goal of establishing a collaborative partnership. Upon completion of the evaluation, the Seeker may contact selected Solvers directly to work out terms for a collaboration contract. The monetary value of the contract will vary depending on the amount of work to be delivered and the agreed time frame.
