OVERVIEW

Wazoku Crowd is seeking applications from qualified and interested experts in quantum computing, technology, and applications with considerable and demonstrated expertise in this area. Our Wazoku client community is particularly interested in quantum strategies, potential Challenges in this area, and more – so this call is to identify and engage with experts in this area to discuss potential consulting work, Challenge writing work, and evaluation opportunities.

This Challenge is open to candidates with relevant and detailed descriptions of their expertise in quantum, from across academia, research, industry, or commercial experience. Please detail your key expertise, published papers, and example work in the Collaboration Proposal part of your application.

Interested Solvers, teams, and start-ups should apply with a Collaboration Proposal (detailing expertise, relevance, and interest), General Information about the applicant (contact information, organization/academic affiliation if applicable), and a required CV/resume from the applicant. Please submit the above key requirements with a view to shortlisting and potential further conversation and project definition.

Initial submissions to this Challenge must be received by early March, 2025.

THE CHALLENGE

Wazoku Crowd is looking for individuals with deep expertise in quantum computing and relevant technology areas with the interest to offer their technical know-how in potential paid opportunities in 2025. These activities could include, but are not limited to:

  • Pre-Challenge advisement: including suggestions for topic areas, evaluation and assessment criteria, and background for the Quantum Challenges. For example, one topic of particular interest is the use of quantum computing in energy utility applications.
  • Challenge writing: using your technical knowledge and interest to craft problem statements to give to the Wazoku Crowd of Solvers, start-ups, and researchers.
  • Solution evaluation: reviewing and making recommendations on solutions posted to Challenges, including detailed technical feedback.
  • Consulting on strategy: as part of a network of experts, consulting with our clients to recommend and develop quantum strategies.

Our interest in Quantum experts is sourced from concrete interest by our Wazoku customer base in developing and acting on their exciting quantum strategies in 2025 and beyond.

The ideal applicant would be:

  1. Qualified – with significant expertise in quantum computing and technologies, displayed through detailed descriptions of your application of these skills from academic, industrial, or commercial experience.
  2. Interested – detailing your desire to work with clients from the Wazoku customer base on potential consulting work in Challenge writing, consultation, evaluation, and more.

It is expected that the ideal applicants would have in-depth knowledge of quantum topics, including, but not limited to:

  • Quantum computing – hardware and software
  • Quantum materials
  • Cryptography, including Quantum Key Distribution (QKD)
  • Quantum machine learning (QML)
  • Quantum networks and services
  • Topological quantum computing
  • Quantum mechanics
  • Physics
  • Hybrid quantum-classical computing
  • Artificial Intelligence applications of quantum technologies

Please also provide details of any sector-specific experience in your use of quantum skills and approaches, for instance: quantum computing in energy utilities businesses; quantum approaches for data science; quantum consulting in the healthcare industry.

  3. Attachments – Please submit your CV/resume to present your background, skills, and accomplishments with relation to this subject matter area: Quantum. Additionally, you can optionally include a cover letter describing your interest in this opportunity.
     

PARTICIPATION GUIDANCE

  1. Submission Close Date: Initial Applications to the Challenge must be received by early March, 2025.
  2. Late submissions: Late submissions will not be considered.
  3. Submission form and attachments: Your submission will be evaluated by the evaluation team both reviewing the attachments of CV/resume (required) and/or cover letter (optional), as well as your personal description through the submission form.
  4. Evaluation notification steps: After the Challenge submission close date, Wazoku will review the applications and contact all relevant experts with future details about quantum opportunities (Challenges, open talent opportunities, research support) with our Seeker companies.
  5. Use of AI: While Wazoku encourages the use by Solvers of AI approaches to help develop their submissions to Challenges, this specific opportunity is about you, your skills, and your experience. Any submissions to this Challenge produced with generative AI are not of interest.
