Challenge overview

Acute Care Nurses are constantly running in and out of patient rooms with information coming at them from many different directions. Obtaining the information needed and attending to the patients’ needs are many times in direct conflict with each other. The Seeker is searching for a system that every nurse could use to obtain data with “hands free” technology and simultaneously monitor the patient.

This Challenge requires only a written proposal with evidence that the enabling technologies exist already and need not to be invented (e.g., photos or video of the technologies).

A system is needed that allows nurses the ability to call up patient information in a hands free environment while still caring for the patients. Data would be in the form of text, pictures, videos, charts, graphs, waveforms, numbers, and dates to name a few. The system should be comprised of enabling technology or components that exists today and not from ideas that might need 5-10 years to develop. The Seeker is also looking for Solvers who would be interested in pursuing prototypes in the future.

This is a Theoretical Challenge that requires only a written proposal (with supporting evidence of the existence of the technology) to be submitted.  The Challenge award will be contingent upon theoretical evaluation of the proposal by the Seeker.

To receive an award, the Seeker will have to select your proposed solution.  The Solver will negotiate with the Seeker to transfer or license to the Seeker their exclusive Intellectual Property (IP) rights to the solution.
