Transitioning Customers to E-sales in a B2B Environment: When & How to Do It

Challenge overview

As a major industrial player, the Seeker conducts extensive sales campaigns around the world. These campaigns are traditionally handled by account managers, and discussions are conducted face to face with the customer.

The Seeker would like to investigate the possibility of transferring certain interactions to e-sales. The Seeker desires tools and processes available to help make this transition, as well as metrics to suggest when a transition is appropriate.

This is an Ideation Challenge with a guaranteed award for at least one submitted solution.

Customers usually require hands on, high touch service such as face to face meetings. This can be quite costly in time and resources and can add time to the sales process. It would be highly beneficial to establish an on-line, e-sales relationship. The questions are: how does the Seeker know which customers are able and ready to switch and what tools and processes should be in place to make a smooth transition?

This is an Ideation Challenge, which has the following unique features:

  • There is a guaranteed award.  The awards will be paid to the best submission(s) as solely determined by the Seeker. The total payout will be $10,000, with at least one award being no smaller than $5,000 and no award being smaller than $2,000
  • The Solvers are not required to transfer exclusive intellectual property rights to the Seeker.  Rather, by submitting a proposal, the Solvers grants to the Seeker a royalty-free, perpetual, and non-exclusive license to use any information included in this proposal.

After the Challenge deadline, the Seeker will complete the review process and make a decision with regards to the Winning Solution(s). All Solvers that submitted a proposal will be notified on the status of their submissions; however, no detailed evaluation of individual submissions will be provided.
