How to get started

Wazoku and Linamar are calling for start-ups and scale-ups looking to utilize Linamar’s leading manufacturing and supply capabilities in mobility, water management and medtech.

How will my IP be protected.

Initially, what you submit to Linamar should be high-level company information and assets you are comfortable sharing publicly. The first interview will be to assess fit, which will then be followed by a more in-depth interview where you will be covered by a NDA.

How long will it take to find out if my company is moving to the next stage?

Wazoku and Linamar are committed to letting all interested parties know about their fit for these projects as quickly as possible. After initial Wazoku screening, Linamar will let us know within 2 weeks of receipt of your proposal whether they would like to move forward with an initial interview. Then, after your initial interview, Linamar is committed to sharing their intentions and next steps (if applicable) within a subsequent 2-week time period.

Will I receive feedback on my proposal?

Yes! Wazoku and Linamar feel that every Solver, start-up, or scale-up who submits in these Challenges should receive feedback. We will provide reasonable notice and analysis on why your application did or did not move to the next stage for all start-ups and scale-ups that complete the submission form relevantly and clearly.

Linamar partnered with Israel-based SoftWheel Ltd., to scale up and meet their production requirements.

2021

Partnering with IMSystems, the Automation & Robotics Gearbox leader based in Delft, The Netherlands, Linamar committed to be the manufacturing source for the system once the design was proven and required scale up.

Battery pack module leader eMatrix entered into an exclusive Manufacturing and Licensing Agreement with Linamar, with the eMatrix CEO stating: “Our partnership with Linamar will allow us to incorporate their renowned manufacturing expertise, as well as utilize their facilities worldwide, to expand our manufacturing and distribution capabilities.”

Your innovative product could be in: power generation, power storage, heat generation, thermal or alternative energy, hydrogen, fuel cells, electrolyzers, carbon capture, power saving, renewables, nuclear energy, and more! However – Linamar is not interested in solar power products at this time.

Register as a Solver

To register for a Solver account and join Innocentive:

Go to the Innocentive Challenge Center registration page.
Enter an email address, which will be used to login to your account.
Complete the remaining required fields including: (1) Name, (2) Display Name and (3) Location.
Create a password. You will be guided to ensure you create a strong password to protect your account.
Click the Register button.
After you complete the registration form, you will receive an email notification confirming your registration and containing instructions to activate your account.
Click the link in the email. You will be asked to accept the Innocentive Terms of Use to complete the account activation process.

Review the Challenge Agreement

The Challenge Agreement (formerly Challenge Specific Agreement or CSA) is a legal document that outlines a Solver's rights and responsibilities if they elect to submit a solution in response to an Innocentive Challenge. The Challenge Agreement specifies if and how IP will be transferred between Solver and Seeker; it may also specify any special rules, such as exclusionary rules for categories of Solvers, that apply to the Challenge.

You must accept the Challenge Agreement to be able to submit a solution to the Challenge. Be sure to read and understand the Challenge Agreement for each Challenge because you will be subject to the applicable Challenge conditions.

Challenge Agreements provide Solvers with clear details around participation, legal IP transfer (if applicable), and details around Prize and Scouting Challenges.

Submit a Solution

To submit a Solution to an Innocentive Challenge as a member of the Solver community:

Go to the Innocentive Challenge Center.
Select a Challenge.
Click Register Interest & Accept Agreement.
Agree to the Challenge Agreement.
Click Add Solution.
Enter any required information.
Attach your solution files.
Click Publish.

You will receive an email confirmation of receipt of your solution to your registered email address.

Win

Receive cash awards or collaboration agreements if your solution or proposal is accepted by Seeker organizations.

Your solution will be evaluated following the due date for submissions. You will then be notified via email as to whether your solution has been successful. In some challenges, you will also receive feedback on your submission.

Award Potential

We've awarded more than $60 million to thousands of Solvers from around the world.

The average award amount is approximately $20,000, but some challenges come with awards of over $100,000 or collaboration agreements.
